Dr Emma Cockcroft

Emma is a Research Fellow at the University of Exeter and is passionate about Physical activity and health. Emma has been working at the University of Exeter Medical school since 2016 and will be leading this 2-year project, supported by other members of the team.

Dr Jane Smith

Jane is a senior lecturer in Primary Care at the University of Exeter Medical School where her research is focused on the development and evaluation of evidence-based behaviour change interventions to prevent and manage chronic illness.

Dr Rob Andrews

Rob is an associate Professor of Diabetes at the University of Exeter and an Honorary Consultant Physician at Musgrove Park Hospital Taunton.

Some of Rob’s research is focused Understanding how better to support patients with Type 1 diabetes to exercise. Along with Parth, Rob co-founded the EXTOD programme (extod.org) which aims to provide evidence-based support for people with type 1 diabetes to undertake safe and effective exercise, and to enjoy its associated health benefits.

Dr Jenny Lloyd

Jenny In a senior lecturer in Public Health Research at the University of Exeter.

Jenny is a mixed methods researcher specialising in the development and evaluation of complex behavioural interventions using a wide range of methods, systematic reviews, stakeholder consultation, logic model development, intervention mapping and process evaluation. I have expertise in engaging a wide range of stakeholders (patients, teachers, parents, children, public health practitioners and policy makers) and actively involving them in both intervention and trial design

Dr Parth Narendran

Parth is a Professor in the Institute of Immunology and Immunotherapy, University of Birmingham.

Parth's research interest focusses on understanding the autoimmune destruction of insulin secreting beta cells that lead to type 1 diabetes and exploring how this process can be modulated.
